Travel with your family to Tulum 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Tulum is one of the best excursions in the Riviera Maya and one of the essential places to visit in Mexico . The archaeological zone of its ancient Mayan city with the iconic castle, located on a cliff above the turquoise green waters of the Caribbean Sea, form one of the most beautiful images of the country.

The visit to the ruins of Tulum can last about 2 or 3 hours, depending on the stops you make and one of its great attractions is to go down to the beach of the ruins, one of the most impressive in the world, once the visit is over. Although if it is very crowded do not worry, another option is to walk to Playa Paraíso, one of the best beaches in Tulum, where you will find 2 kilometers of white sand beach, with shops and restaurants to have a drink or eat.

If you are not staying in Tulum you can get by bus to the city and from there take a van to the ruins. Another more comfortable option is to book an excursion with a Spanish guide at dawn or this one that also includes a visit to the Mayan ruins of Cobá. On both tours you will be picked up at your hotel.

YOU HAVE TO TRY IN ACAPULCO DE JUÁREZ

The best traditional dishes in Acapulco de Juárez and the best authentic restaurants that make them, recommended by industry professionals.

Green Pozole (Pozole verde)

Pozole is a soupy and aromatic Mexican stew that comes in three versions – red, white, and green, symbolizing the colors of the Mexican flag. Although there are many variations, pozole verde or green pozole is usually made with a combination of hominy, chicken or pork (or both), onions, garlic, salt, and a green sauce consisting of poblano and jalapeño peppers, green tomatoes, lettuce, radish or spinach leaves, oregano, cumin, pumpkin seeds, salt, garlic, and onions.

Enchiladas de camaron

Enchiladas de camaron is a popular Mexican dish consisting of fried tortillas filled with shrimp and various ingredients such as corn, onions, chiles, tomatoes, and coriander. These rolled tortillas are especially popular in the North Pacific and Gulf regions of Mexico, and it is recommended to serve them garnished with crema Mexicana, avocado slices, and grated cheese.

Tacos

Tacos are the national dish of Mexico, dating back to the Mexican silver mines of the 18th century, when the word taco referred to gunpowder that was wrapped in a piece of paper and inserted into rocks. It was used to excavate the precious ore from mines and was called tacos de minero or miner's tacos. Today, the word is widely known to signify the leading street food and fast food item in Mexico – thin, flat griddle-baked tortillas topped with numerous fillings, folded and eaten without any utensils.

Acapulco's most visited beach

The beaches of Acapulco are among the star attractions of this Mexican city. They range from bustling shores with sun loungers and plenty of activities to long and undeveloped coastlines. At most Acapulco beaches, you’ll find the classic characteristics that keep people coming back year after year – huge tracts of soft golden sand washed with the swells of the Pacific Ocean, along with great facilities for families.

Besides options for lounging on the sand, all these Acapulco beaches have nearby bars and restaurants as well as water sports like jet skiing, surfing, parasailing, snorkelling, and more.

Condesa Beach

Condesa Beach, in the centre of the tourist-friendly Golden Zone, is where you’ll find the biggest crowds in Acapulco. This beach, with its golden sand, is packed with families and friends relaxing on sun loungers, playing beach games or water sports. Come here if you want some action along with your sunbathing.

You can rent kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and jet skis, with windsurfing classes and even bungee jumping available for the more adventurous. There’s also a great selection of beach bars and restaurants lining the beach. Condesa Beach isn’t the most relaxing stretch of coastline in Acapulco, but it is the most entertaining.

Get away to Acapulco

The mere mention of Acapulco conjures images of Mexican-style paradise: frosted margarita glasses in the shade of swaying palm trees on a half-moon beach of gleaming white hotels. This is true, but there are many more things to do in Acapulco than go to the beach.

Hitting the beach comes first, right? It’s obviously one of the activities in Acapulco that everyone has in mind.

Acapulco Bay contains the main beaches and most Acapulco attractions. Rugged mountains rise up behind the bay, dividing the tourist zone on the ocean from the otherwise average small Mexican city on the other side.

The beaches to the west of the cliffs get more crowded, being closer to the old downtown and the party spots of Costera Street, which follows the beach.

The beaches to the east of the cliffs are lined with luxury hotels and are a little quieter, though everywhere gets crowded on Mexican holidays.

Basically anywhere you choose, you’ll have gorgeous views of the mountains on each side of the bay, where tall hotels and apartment buildings have been built into high, rocky bluffs.

Innovations for tourism that have ceased to be science fiction

The cover story of the September issue of HOSTELTUR magazine features a selection of recently launched technologies already available on the market that can help tourism companies and destinations move towards a more personalized, sustainable and efficient travel model.

VIRTUAL REALITY TO DECIDE OUR DESTINATION

Thanks to the internet today we can already decide from our living room where we will go on vacation and book the trip; the next step will be to put on virtual reality glasses to interact with the hotel, the travel agency, the airline or the destination, and see in 360º where we will stay for example. GOODBYE PASSPORT; OUR FACE WILL SUFFICE

Facial recognition technology is coming to airports. And in some countries, the passport is being completely replaced by biometric controls, both for security reasons and to reduce waiting times. Image: biometric boarding tests carried out by KLM at Amsterdam airport.

CUSTOMIZED HOTEL ROOMS

Surrounding technology is transforming hotel rooms in the 21st century. Spanish hotel chains are at the forefront of this revolution. DRONES: MULTIPLE USES FOR THE TOURISM INDUSTRY

From recording images for promotional purposes; to surveillance and rescue work on beaches; as a flying cab; for room service; or as an assistant to inspect airplanes in less time, these devices are increasingly used.
