Underwater Museum of Art in Cancun

The Underwater Museum of Art is a museum located in the balneary of Cancun, Mexico, which aims to showcase a series of incredible artistic works right at the bottom of the sea. Also called MUSA, this place opened in 2009 and since then has received around 1 million visitors every year. Amazing, isn’t it? This is certainly one of the main and most unmissable tourist attractions in Cancun.

The idea of building this museum arose to preserve the region’s reefs that were being degraded with tourist visits. With this, MUSA was born, in which the sculptures exhibited underwater are made of a material that helps in the proliferation of corals that attach to works of art. To visit the Underwater Museum of Art in Cancun, you must swim and snorkel, or use a glass-bottom boat to visit the underwater facility.
